Inside there are roads, trails, springs, plateaus between forests mostly Raulíes with beautiful views of the majestic Millallipem (monumental rock formation, its name means “Place of Abundance”) and the valley of Trancura River, one of the most important rivers in the Chilean Andean sector, whose course with its more than 30 meters wide, is world renowned for its white waters and flowing ideal for rafting and kayaking.

FLORA and FAUNA

The land is mostly inhabited by native forests of Raulíes coexisting with other species such as Roble, Luma, Mañío, Lingue, Arrayan, Bamboo sticks, Canelos among others. There is a wetland (mallín) full of diverse life.

The fauna is that of the Andes, abundant birds and mammals of various species. Today you can see pumas, foxes, quiques, skunks, wildcats or guiñas, dwarf deer or pudúes, nutria. Among birds, Andean Condor, Colilargas, churrines, black woodpeckers, Torcazas, Bandurrias, Peucos.

ANCESTORS

MAPUCHE which means “People of the Earth” is the original ethnic group in the area and one of the largest and most important of Chile. Mapuche tribes are organized in small communities, which are formed by large consanguineous families of about 50 members; these communities or clans are led by a leader, the lonco.
